Your story

Arrive with $200. Leave with something you built.

You arrive at D2D University with $200, a simple dorm room and no business. Explore the campus, find people and problems worth solving, and turn one idea into a company, one decision at a time.

Friends, mentors and rivals change your story. Every chapter is something you play, not a long cutscene, and nothing ends when you graduate.

Room to grow

A dorm room is only the start.

All of it is in the game today, and all of its money, markets and AI are fictional.

    Work from anywhere on campus.

Take your laptop to the café, the library or the quad, and upgrade it as your company grows.

  • fictional AI

AI tools, then your own AI lab.

  • fictional market

Investors, a stock market and an IPO.

Raise money, manage who owns what and take your company public on a fictional exchange. No real money, no real stocks.

  • move out

    Leave the dorm. Expand.

Move off campus and grow into Palm Harbor, Golden Bay and Hudson City, three cities inspired by Florida, California and New York.

  • make things

Design it. Build it. Ship it.

Lay out workshops and production floors, place every machine yourself or let the Smart Layout assistant suggest a plan.

  • people

    Cofounders and rivals.

Six potential cofounders to meet, and eight rival founders chasing the same customers you are.

  • arcade

    The D2D Arcade.

Five arcade games between classes: Packet Run, Pitch Perfect, Build Sprint, Demo Day Duel and Campus Courier.

  • friends

Private worlds for up to four.

An optional, invite-only world for you and up to three friends, across Windows and Mac. Solo play is the complete game and never needs to go online.

Questions

Good to know.

When can I play?

Now, on Windows and Apple silicon Macs. Buy it for $9.99 or get it with a KalCode plan, then download it from your Game Library on kalcoded.com.

Who makes Dorm to Dynasty?

KalCode. It's a KalCode game: you buy it, sign in and download it with a KalCode account on kalcoded.com.

Does it need an internet connection or an account?

Only to confirm you own it. You link the game to your KalCode account once, by entering a short code on kalcoded.com. After that the single-player game plays offline and your saves stay on your computer. It renews its license quietly when you're online and needs to reconnect at least once every 30 days; your saves are never touched.

Are there microtransactions or loot boxes?

No. There are no microtransactions, loot boxes, ads or in-game currency for sale. The money you earn in the game is fictional, can't be bought and can't be cashed out.

How much does it cost?

$9.99 (USD), once, with no subscription needed. It's also included with KalCode Pro, MAX and MAX 2X.

Can I play with friends?

Yes, optionally. You can host a private, invite-only world for you and up to three friends, explore campus together and start companies as cofounders, on Windows and Mac. Solo play is the complete game and never needs an online session.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Success never depends on coding. You can build a campus service or make physical products instead of software, and KalCode Sim only asks you to make decisions.

Is the stock market real?

No. The stock market, investors and IPO are fictional parts of the game. No real money, real shares or real trading is involved, and nothing in the game can be cashed out.

Who is it for?

Everyone. Dorm to Dynasty is made for players of all ages: no violence, no gambling or loot boxes, no ads, and its money and stock market are fictional. Buying and signing in use a KalCode account, so younger players can play on a parent's or guardian's account.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. You can ask for a full refund of the $9.99 purchase within 14 days of paying, for any reason. Email kalcodeoffical@gmail.com from your KalCode account's email address. The Dorm to Dynasty terms have the details.

Which computers does it run on?

64-bit Windows 11, and Apple silicon Macs on macOS 12 or later. Windows 10 and lower-end PCs haven't been tested yet, so they aren't listed. Linux is being considered and will only be listed once it has been tested on real hardware.
